Yes! This year we finally decided to stock the creek with rainbow trout! Turns out nobody delivers live trout, so we traveled to Marion, NC (a 3 hour round trip) with two 36 gallon trash cans (to hold the fish and water), ice (to keep the water temperature low) and a 12 volt air pump to aerate the water (trout need lots of oxygen and couldn't have made it all the way down the mountain without it). In all we rescued about 40 rainbow trout (for now at least) and introduced them to a variety of holes along the creek. Our "guests" are doing GREAT and are happy to make an appearance whenever we appear with some trout chow! This is the fish tank I've always wanted - large enough for the big fish and we don't have to clean it!! Special thanks to Mike and Barb for helping us on our "trout stocking day"! |
