We lost Sally to pancreatic cancer last December after 7 years of saying "no" to the disease (an amazing length of time for that particular type of cancer), but Sally's passion for healing through art continues thanks to a generous donation to the Tryon Arts & Crafts Center (TAC) made by her beautiful husband Ed Hershberger (Fire Chief at a local Fire Dept). Ed saw a special connection between Sally's love of TAC and of Wind River so he set up a special "Sally" Fund to provide art opportunities for survivors at the TAC to be administered by Wind River. We are thrilled and humbled to be a part of Ed's wonderful idea and Sally's continuing legacy of helping others...
Pictured above: Our first "Sally" workshop with 6 survivors from Louisiana and North Carolina! ... a wonderful scarf dying shop offered by artist Christine Mariotti. I'm sure Sally was smiling down on us that day.
