We have a precious young woman who is a Wind River alum who is battling Leukemia, going on 4 years now. She is now seeking a 2nd transplant and needs a non-related donor (through Be The Match Registry).  It could be YOU!!!

She doesn't currently have a good match in their system so we are asking EVERYONE to look at the criteria and consider doing a swab!  There are age limits and other qualifications, but it is worth checking --- and if you are not a good fit, maybe ask a friend!

Be The Match will send you a swab kit in the mail and then you will be added to the registry. It is anonymous and you can remove your name from the registry at any time.

From Lauren:
Be The Match is a great website for information on stem cell transplants as well. Thanks for reading this far and thank you to all that have provided so much support these last few years. I believe in the power of prayer and have witnessed first hand prayers answer. I please ask that you pray I find a donor for this 2nd transplant. Much love to all!

REMEMBERING OUR FRIENDS

Candle Lighting Ceremony
January 1, 2020

Each year our Wind River team celebrates the lives of our retreat alumni (and other names forwarded to us) by saying a few words and reading, out loud, the names of those who've passed. We read all the names of Wind River alum who have passed since our inception in 2007 and while the list grows longer, we cherish each friend and our memories.

This year we gathered on January 1st by a large warm bon fire at Wind River to remember those we have lost. These included the following people lost in 2019:

Claire Spence, Kathy Morgoch, LynnMarie Longo, Heather Mueller, Phyllis Chitwood, Jamie Eudy, Cindy
D'Octtavio, Janet Lev, Tonya Goodman, Sharon Grammer, Marie Ginette Gavin, Traci Raizzi, Brie Goobie, Ann Hierly, Allison Reilly, Lynn Chemla, Amy Pack, Monica Mitchell-Giraudo , Deborah Shabazz, Joanne Fleming, Erika Nalls, and our friend Todd Holt.

"As we begin this brand new year it's customary to look forward to the possibilities ahead of us and contemplate who we will become in the year ahead.  But before we rush ahead into the future it is important for us to take time to pause and remember the people we've lost in 2019.  People that, in some cases, we only knew for a short time and were lucky enough to meet and in other cases, people we've known a lifetime.

Each of the names we read tonight was a light in the universe, a person that touched those around them and left a mark. We read these names aloud tonight to honor their family who miss them and to honor their memory and let them know that they are not forgotten.  Each name is a person, a lifetime of adventures and memories and each person will be greatly missed..."
