Wind River Cancer Wellness
.... where hearts and minds meet
Special Announcement from the Co-Founders of Wind River
We could have never imagined that a 7-day backpacking adventure through Wyoming's breathtaking Wind River Range would lead to 17 years of service and friendships through our Wind River Cancer Wellness Programs.
What began as an idea to share the healing power of nature with others through multi-day Cancer Wellness Retreats on our property evolved into something much deeper, encompassing not only cancer survivors but also families and healthcare practitioners through a myriad of workshops, offsite and day retreats, online resources and virtual programs!
And now it is time for change once again. Dave and I find ourselves entering a new chapter in our own lives and after dedicating 17 years to supporting cancer survivors we recognize the need to step back, prioritize our own health, and rejuvenate our spirits.
Words alone fall short in expressing the profound gratitude that fills our hearts, not just for the many survivors who have graced our journey but for everyone who has become a member of our Wind River Family. None of this would have been possible without our invaluable teammate Cheryl Lecroy, the countless volunteers, and all the individual supporters and grant partners who have helped keep our programs free of charge to survivors all these years!
We fully intend to continue current friendships and support the cancer community in a variety of ways in the future, but will be concluding operations of our Wind River cancer programs and newsletters at the end of this year.
