What is a Cancer Wellness Retreat?
Having cancer is difficult. Not just physically, but mentally and
emotionally as well.
To support others with cancer we have created a unique
four day Cancer Wellness Retreat nestled in the foothills of western North
Carolina.
Our Wind River Cancer Wellness Retreats provide men and women dealing with cancer a safe, tranquil setting to slow down, connect with other survivors and learn new tools to help them reduce stress and live healthier, happier lives.
Activities vary and each Wellness Retreat but often include Tai Chi (Qi Gong), Gentle Yoga, Guided Imagery, Healthy Eating, Art and Music, Hikes, Bonfires and time to relax and listen to the sounds of a babbling creek in a hammock.
Visit our Wind River Events page for a schedule of our up coming Retreats & Programs!
Cancer Wellness Programs
And, to reach more survivors, we have created a Cancer Outreach Program which
includes stress reduction & wellness workshops and pre & post surgery
coaching for survivors.
Our goal is for participants to leave our Cancer
Wellness Retreats & Outreach Programs revitalized and invigorated, with the
tools they will need for whatever lies ahead. Since 2007 we have provided our
retreats and programs at NO CHARGE to cancer survivors.
Help Us Continue our Program: Since 2007, our Cancer Retreats & Wellness Programs have been provided free of charge to survivors! This is solely because of the many individual donors, small business sponsors and volunteers who make this all possible. Join us and help make a difference in a survivor's life today! | At the Heart of Wind River ... (recent quotes from retreat alumni) ![]() "It has been two months since my Retreat, and I am still in total amazement from my Wind River experience. ... To be able to share my story and gleam from others was priceless. The laughter along with the tears was healing to my soul. I'm still in awe and find myself going back there in my mind on a daily basis for strength (and humor)!" Fall Wind River Alum 2011
