We wanted to share with you a powerful way to view crisis from our friends at FlyLeaf Counseling .... take a moment to reflect.
"Webster's defines "crisis" as a turning point for better or for worse. Crisis essentially means "change". We are in the midst of a global crisis. Let's face it...it is scary as hell and nobody really knows what the other side of this looks like. Uncertainty breeds fear.
We cannot try to control elements outside of our power...that is a draining and hopeless endeavor. What we can manage is our personal perspective and honor those whose view is different. We would hope that, as a collective and as individuals, we aspire to be in the Growth Zone. We need to respect each other's progress through the Fear and Learning Zones while honoring where we are on this continuum.
Through asking questions and collecting data, we can move forward into a healthy place. Be aware of behaviors and their underlying drivers. What may appear to be selfish, panicked, and unhealthy may actually be an attempt at managing acute fear. With a little patience and understanding we can get through this together. The ways we adapt today will directly influence the outcomes we experience in the future."
