In June Laura and another went to Jamaica as part of a $10,000 grant to provide 200 mammograms and follow up care, to women in Jamaica. The grant was actually awarded to another woman who, when asked what would she do with $10,000 in service of others, she said she would like to make Laura's dream come true of getting urgently needed preventative care to Jamaican women.
While mammograms are the norm in the US, not so in Jamaica where there is only one main hospital with only TWO operating rooms for ALL surgeries (emergencies, trauma as well as other treatments like cancer care). As part of the grant, the medical doctor supporting them agreed to offer a biopsy same-day to anyone with a suspicious screening.
There is much more to her story but I just wanted to take a moment to recognize our friend and express our gratitude to our earth angel Laura for all that she does for others!
THANK YOU!!!
